Library elf Taavetti reminds us that, "if Santa Claus doesn't bring any reading material or you run out of books to read during Christmas break, you should check the libraries' Christmas self-service hours at outi.finna.fi".
The author of the calendar texts has managed to slip into the secret world of the library. A data breach? Or perhaps tapping the phone line? The scribe may have become a detective as a side business.
Santa's Secret Diary from 2023 told us what goes on in the library to keep things running smoothly for borrowers. The veil of secrecy was parted, even though the notes were cleverly hidden behind the doors of the Advent Calendar.
December is a busy time for borrowing at the library, as any other month. In the morning, when there's a colossal pile of books to be shelved, Rontti the cat jumps in as foreman to make sure the books end up in their right places and the shelves are tidy.
Story moments, rich in imagination, are a tradition in library work. Rontti the cat loves fairy tales and often gets to follow an exciting story told by the librarian at the kids' story sessions.
Library elf Taavetti knows that the best way to relax and leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind is to open a book and dive into the world of stories. Luckily, during the holiday season, we also have access to the library's self-service.
