Monument to the Battle of Siikajoki

A momument commemorating the Siikajoki battle of the Finnish War is located near the Siikajoki Church. In the battle fought on 18 April 1808, the Swedish-Finnish troops beat the Russians thanks to the strategic prowess of General Carl Johan Adlercreutz (1757–1815).

The unveiling of the monument designed by architect and visual artist Matti Visanti (1885–1957) (formerly Björklund) took place on 26 August 1934.
