The Captain’s Sauna – an Unforgettable Experience at Lang’s Trading House

In the gentle heat of the Captain’s Sauna, time stands still and your mind grows calm. In the sauna, the rush, stress, daily chores, and schedules drift away. The Captain’s Sauna is a traditional wood-heated sauna in Old Raahe, located in the historic courtyard of Captain Himanka, right next to Lang’s Trading House. The sauna features sturdy, locally built aspen benches and a large wood-burning stove. The washing area is directly connected to the sauna. The facilities also include a dressing room and a sauna lounge, both charmingly furnished in an old-time style.

Water is carried into the sauna by bucket, and washing is done by scooping water from a wooden tub — just like in the old days! The benches can accommodate up to 10 people at a time, and the tables in the sauna lounge can seat about 20 people for an evening get-together and enjoying traditional sauna snacks.
The sauna facilities are part of Lang’s Trading House’s licensed serving area.
