Seven different mementos from the Raahe region

Local handicraft and gift shops offer products and decorations inspired by the region for everyday use, to adorn shelves, or to delight a friend. Souvenirs have been inspired by the beautiful wooden house area of Old Town Raahe, the world's oldest diving suit The Old Gentleman, the maritime history of the region, and wooden church sculptures from times past.

Raahe Museum

The products in the museum shop have drawn inspiration from Raahe and the collections of the Raahe Museum. Particularly, the greatest treasures of the museum's collections, the world's oldest preserved diving suit The Old Gentleman, and the enchanting wooden church sculptures from the 1600s by Mikael Balt, have inspired numerous different souvenirs.

The Old Gentleman has transformed into pastilles, postcards, ceramic statues, keychains, and magnets among other things. There's even a deck of playing cards featuring the diving suit! In addition to earrings, trays, notebooks, and magnets featuring Balt's sculptures and angels, you can find them on various textiles such as canvas bags and kitchen towels.

In addition to the museum, products for the museum shop have been designed and executed by Dezio, FafeNenne, Raahe Taitopaja, and Karhun Kirja & Paperi.

Kuutostiimi

From Kuutostiimi's handicraft and gift shop, you can find personalized mementos for both soft and hard packages. Kuutostiimi's products are inspired by the Raahe region. The selection includes shirts, cards, home textiles, coasters, trays, posters, and keychains among other things.

From Kuutostiimi you can find products from the following manufacturers: Raahe seura, Viiluna, Cortens Design, Kuvanaiset, Herttapuoji, and FafeNenne.

Trade House of Lang

From Lang's shop shelves, you'll find products and treasures from local artisans and from across the seas. The product range is compiled according to Lang's ship cargo manifest: the 1864 manifest recorded flax from Livonia, fine French olive oil soap, and caramels from Sweden. All of these can still be found in the shop today!

The shop also offers Raahe-themed souvenirs with illustrations purchased from local artists. Would you be delighted by a locally designed and produced Trade House of Lang signature tea or coffee, a canvas bag with Tasku's pooki illustration, or handmade soap made in Siikajoki, completed with a hand-crocheted soap bag?

Trade House of Lang designs many of its products itself. From the shelves you can find t-shirts, canvas bags, kitchen towels, aprons, and trays. In addition to these, Lang's shop offers crafts from Fede Art & Craft, bronze and ceramic products from Taitopaja, and natural cosmetics from Annika Kukonharju in Siikajoki.

Raahe Taitopaja

The famous porcelain Raahe dogs are crafted at Raahe Taitopaja. The dogs are handmade, making each piece unique. The model for the well-known ship dogs was the Staffordshire dogs brought from England by sailors.

There are bronze and porcelain diving suit statues and bronze keychains from The Old Gentleman. Bronze is also cast into small reliefs of Pekka. Count Pehr Brahe, the founder of Raahe, adorns the city center as a statue in Pekkatori Square.

Distinctive Raahe symbols have been made into glass-fused magnets. Would you like your fridge adorned with The Old Gentleman, Pekka statue, or the Raahe dogs?
